Hi, I'm Julie Moses. My students know me as Miss Julie.

I teach art classes to kids from kindergarten through adults.

My teaching philosophy revolves around learning from studying the masters,

emulating their work, and building each artist's unique creativity in the process.

Each week we focus on a different artist or art period. We learn a few facts about him or her and then we complete a project based on some aspect of that artist's style, technique, medium, or one of their specific pieces.

One week, we studied Degas. We learned that he wanted to capture a moment in time, to stop the action for a split second. He loved to capture the beauty of dancers at the ballet. Very often he used chalk pastels to do this since they are very portable and blend well. We then completed our own piece in chalk pastel.
